The Jefferson City Jays overcame a 20-7 halftime deficit to defeat the Ft. Zumwalt South Bulldogs 28-20 in the Class 6 District 6 opener Friday night at Adkins Stadium.
But Jeremy Hampton, who blocked a PAT in the first half, blocked the field goal attempt, and Padgett scooped it up and raced 90 yards untouched down the left sideline to make it 28-20 and end the scoring with 1:01 left.
