Scary moment for Jays at the end of 37-14 win

Excerpts:

It was a somber locker room after Jefferson City's 37-14 Class 6 sectional win over Francis Howell on Friday night at Adkins Stadium.

With 1:47 left in the game, guard Kaleb Davis, one of Jefferson City's senior cornerstones, went down and stayed down -- basically motionless -- for about 20 minutes. He was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

LePage calmly talked to the Jays in the lockerroom after the game, about their performance and about Davis. You could hear a pin drop.

"The one thing I can say about these young men are they are very close, they're like family," LePage said.
