Artificial Turf
Rock Bridge is one of the high schools with artificial turf. You may see the ball bounce or a player make a quick move and see what looks to be dirt flying up from the ground. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. There is shredded rubber (kind of like a large grain rubber sand) spread out across the surface, which gets kicked up as you can see in the picture below. This black sand can also make for a very hot field on days like we have experienced recently. With today's rain and cooler temperatures it may not be so bad.
