Camouflage Against Cancer

It has been noted in the School's Key Communicator, the Jay Football website, and in the News Tribune, but it is worth posting it here too. The Jays are helping one of their own.

In August of 2009, former Jay Maurice Burnley was diagnosed with bone cancer during a routine physical. Since then, Maurice and his family have endured treatments, surgeries, and radiation in an effort to beat the disease. Maurice, a 2008 All-State selection and 2009 graduate of JCHS, is the oldest of four boys - his younger brother Malik is a member of the 2010 Jay Football team.

The Jay Football program would like to help the Burnley family offset some of their expenses by launching the "Camouflage Against Cancer" campaign. All profits from this effort will go directly to Maurice and his family.

The team and their boosters will be selling "Camouflage Against Cancer" t-shirts for $15 each. T-shirts can be purchased at the Jay Hut or from any Jay player or coach.

Also, in honor of Maurice, the Jay Football team will wear red and black camouflage jerseys in their September 17th home game vs. the Rock Bridge Bruins. A set of jerseys will be auctioned off prior to the Rock Bridge game and the second set will be available to purchase after the game.

Follow the Jay Football site for more info.
