11/02/07 Jefferson City (MO)Those that win their Districts move on to State Championship play. The winners of the different Class 6 Districts will play according to the State Championship Bracket.
Looking at it from a District 6 perspective the District Champ (the team within the district that has best district record) would play the Winner of District 5 on 11/09/2007 at 7pm in the State Quarterfinals. This year the Winner of District 5 would host this game.
To give you an idea of the possible locations, below are the teams in Class 6 District 5.
DeSmet High School
Francis Howell Central High School
Francis Howell High School
Francis Howell North High School
The winner of the District 5/6 quarter final game would move on to the semi-final game on 11/16/2007 at 7pm and face the winner of the District 7/8 quarter-final game. You might wonder who would host this game. Well this is also set by the Missouri State High School Athletic Association (MSHSAA). They show that "The Semifinal round will be hosted by the school that did not host in the Quarterfinal round. If both teams, or neither team, hosted the Quarterfinal game, the host site shall be the top team on the bracket in odd-numbered years (2007)."
The winners of the semi-final game will meet in the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis on 11/23/2007 at 6:30pm to determine the State Champion. This can cause families to change their Thanksgiving plans. Admission to the Championships is $11 per day (www.ticketmaster.com - not available yet). This year will mark the 40th year for the Annual MSHAA Football Championships. Last year the two day total attendance for the Class 1-6 Championships was 31,838.
If our Jays were to make it to the semi-finals again, it could be likely that they would be hosting Rockhurst or Blue Springs South at Adkins Stadium.
