Jays clobber Bulldogs

The Jefferson City Jays manhandled Fort Zumwalt South 55-7 on Friday in the opening game of district play.


The Jays had two 100-yard rushers, as Aaron Terrill carried the ball 13 times for 122 yards and Desmond Wilson ran 12 times for 104 yards.


At the 7:00 mark of the period, Aaron Terrill scored on a 29-yard run and Jay Harness kicked the first of his seven PATs.


With :59 left in the quarter, Terrill scored on an 8-yard run.

Then came a crazy 95-second span where the teams combined for four touchdowns - three by Jefferson City - in six plays.

Brad Allen hit Cole Boyce with a 24-yard scoring pass with 10:54 left before halftime.

With 10:01 left before the break, Jefferson City's Even Porter recovered a fumble and ran it back 30 yards for a score.


Then at the 9:19 mark, Wilson dashed 25 yards for a score.

The Jays' final score of the opening half came on a 59-yard interception return by Frank Bryant with 1:44 left before halftime.

Allen scored on a 4-yard run with 5:05 left in the third quarter and Trent Kay scored on a 31-yard run with 10:13 left in the game to wrap up the scoring.
