CLASS 7A : Jays give Bulldogs run-around
“We give Brad a lot of freedom to call audibles, and he played really well,” Jefferson City Coach Ted LaPage said. “Walker is a phenomenal athlete and tonight he became a man. He was just getting the feel of varsity play last week and he didn’t play up to his potential. He weighs 230 pounds and I thought he used his size better.”
“You could tell it was their second game and our first game,” Springdale Coach Kevin Johnson said. “They made some adjustments in the second half and their big back [Walker ] got going. But we could’ve had a bigger lead except for some critical mistakes we in the first half. We had a kid who didn’t keep his composure when we had the ball at their goal line and then we were called for blocking in the back on an interception return. Those mistakes really cost us.”
